When selecting the spot welding path of the medium frequency spot welding machine, the length of the secondary loop and the space area included in the loop should be shortened as much as possible to save energy consumption, reduce the fluctuation of the welding current, and ensure the quality of each point is constant.
The following is an explanation of how to choose some welding methods, mainly focusing on single-sided single spot welding, double-sided single spot welding, double-sided multi-point and multi-point welding.
1. Single-sided single spot welding is relatively easy to operate. This solution can be used when the electrode accessibility on one side of the part is poor or the part is large and the secondary circuit is too long.
2. When single-sided double spot welding is fed from one side, weld two points at the same time as much as possible to improve productivity. Single-sided power feeding often has inefficiency and shunting, which wastes electric energy. When the point distance is too small, welding will not be possible. In some cases, if the design allows, making a long and narrow gap between two points on the upper board can significantly reduce the shunt current.
3. It is difficult to distribute the current evenly between the two points of double-sided double spot welding, and it is difficult to ensure consistent quality at the two points. The closed-loop power supply method greatly improves the phenomenon of shunting and uneven heating of the upper and lower plates, and the solder joints can be arranged at any position. The disadvantage is that two transformers and two cylinders must be made, which are placed on both sides of the weldment. The two transformers must be energized according to polarity. The cost is high.
4. Multi-spot welding: When the parts have a large number of welding points and are mass-produced, multi-spot welding solutions are often used to improve productivity. Multi-spot welding machines are special equipment. Most of them adopt a single-side power feeding method, which is more flexible. The secondary loop is not restricted by the size of the welding piece. In cases of higher requirements, a closed-loop power feeding spot welding solution can also be used. At present, a set of transformers is generally used to weld two or four points at the same time (the latter has two sets of secondary circuits). A multi-spot welding machine can be composed of multiple transformers. Three options are available: simultaneous pressurization and simultaneous energization, simultaneous pressurization and group energization, and group pressurization and group energization. The appropriate solution can be selected based on productivity and grid capacity.
