The pre-pressing time of the intermediate frequency spot welding machine generally refers to the time from the start of the equipment’s power switch to the action of the cylinder (movement of the electrode head) until the pressing time.
In single-point welding, the total time of pre-pressing and pressing equals the time from the cylinder’s action to the first power-on. If the power switch is released during the pre-pressing time, the welding process will be interrupted and return to its initial state, and the welding procedure will not be executed. Once the time reaches the pressing time, even if the power switch is released, the welding machine will automatically complete one welding process.
Proper adjustment of the pre-pressing time can immediately interrupt the welding process if the workpiece is not properly positioned, thereby avoiding workpiece damage.
In multi-point welding, the time of the first pre-pressing and pressing is added together, and only the pressing time is executed during the second welding process. (In multi-point welding, the power switch should remain in the on state). The length of the pre-pressing and pressing time should be adjusted according to the air pressure and cylinder speed, with the principle of ensuring that the workpiece is pressed before powering on.
